A meta-format for this one is the publisher “Standards Manual” (https://standardsmanual.com/pages/about) who initially came about as a Kickstarter project to publish the out-of-print NYC transit signage guidelines from legendary designer Massimo Vignelli. Since, they’ve found archival copies of the NASA guidelines (as you covered) and other pre-digital standards. What’s notable about pre-digital standards that are a little lost in the era of digital files, is that often these were instructions for how to manually reproduce the identity (especially for signs and liveries) as well as providing swatches to provide vendors for consistent color, etc. I still find it hard to imagine having to sit down with a stencil or a compass and protractor in order to copy a logo or font.

In a truly meta fashion these Formats Unpacked almost function in a similar way!
